ECOPC02  Cusco-Machu Picchu                3D/2N

Day 1:    CUSCO
Arrival in Cusco. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Accommodations and relax for acclimatization to the altitude. In the afternoon a 3 hour tour will take us to visit the nearby Inca ruins: Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambo Machay. Short City Tour visiting the “Plaza de Armas”, the Cathedral and Qorikancha temple. Hotel.

Day 2:   

CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU
Early morning transfer to the train station followed by a beautiful train ride along the Urubamba Incas Sacred Valley down to Aguas Calientes village. Arrival and transport by public bus to the main entrance of the world famous Machu Picchu Inca ruins. Guided tour to enjoy one of the most impressive ruins in South America. Late afternoon public bus to Aguas Calientes and return to Cusco by train. Transfer to the Hotel. (B).

Day 3:    CUSCO transfer out
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport, bus/train station or program extension. (B).

ECOPC03   Cusco - Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu     4D/3N

 

Day 1:    CUSCO- SACRED VALLEY

Arrival in Cusco. Reception and transport to Urubamba, the Incas Sacred Valley. Visit Pisac Inca Ruins, the  colourful market of Pisac and the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo. Overnight in a local Hotel in Urubamba. (L).

Day 2:    SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Transfer to the train station in Ollanta followed by a beautiful train ride towards Aguas Calientes village. Arrival and by public bus transport to the main entrance of the world famous Machu Picchu Inca ruins. Guided tour to enjoy these impressive ruins. Late afternoon public bus to Aguas Calientes and return to Cusco by train. Transfer to the Hotel in Cusco. (B).

Day 3:    CUSCO CITY & NEARBY RUINS
Breakfast. Morning visit to the nearby ruins of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, and Tambo Machay, including a visit to the Qorikancha Temple. Free afternoon. Hotel in Cusco. (B).

Day 4:    CUSCO. Transfer out

Day 2:    SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES.
Breakfast. Transfer to the train station in Ollanta followed by a beautiful train ride towards Aguas Calientes village. Arrival and by public bus transport to the main entrance of the famous Machu Picchu Inca citadel. Guided tour to enjoy one of the most impressive ruins of the world. Late afternoon public bus to Aguas Calientes. You can enjoy the hot Spring Baths in this small town. Hotel in Aguas Calientes. (B).

Day 3:    MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Free morning. On your own you can again visit Machu Picchu, climb Huaynapicchu hill from where you can appreciate a different view of the Machu Picchu sanctuary or perhaps stay in Aguas Calientes to enjoy a walk on the beautiful surroundings, including the Hot Spring Baths. Late afternoon train back to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. (B).

Day 4:    CUSCO CITY & NEARBY RUINS
Breakfast. Morning visit to the nearby ruins of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, and Tambomachay, including a visit to the Qorikancha Temple. Free afternoon. Hotel in Cusco. (B).

Day 5:    CUSCO transfer out

ECOPC05   Inca Trail (with hotel in Aguas Calientes)   2D/1N

 

Day 1:    CUSCOMACHU  PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES

Tour starts in Cusco with transfer from the hotel to the train station. Train ride to Km. 104 (at 2,000 m), We will arrive there in the Warden’s post of Chachabamba Incas’ ruins. From this point we begin ascending up over 700 m. The steps lead up to the Wiñaywayna Inca's Ruins, impressive, large and well-preserved ruins. We will continue into the cloud forest, which leads us to the Intipunku (the sun-gate) at 2,700 m. From here you will have the first view of the citadel of Machupicchu. Short visit to Machu Picchu and late afternoon by bus transport to Aguas Calientes town. Hotel accommodation in Aguas Calientes. (BL,D)


Day 2:    AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Early morning we will visit the Machu Picchu Incas’ ruins. There you should have 5 to 6 hours available to spend in this beautiful area including time to climb to the Huaynapicchu Hill or the Inca’s Bridge. Afternoon public bus to Aguas Calientes and train back to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco late afternoon, transfer to the bus/train station or program extension. (B).

   Inca Trail (with lodging in Wiñaywayna)    2D/1N

 


Day 1:  CUSCO – WIÑAYHUAYNA (pass 18th).- Tour starts with transfer from the hotel to the train station.  Train ride to Km. 104 (2,000 m).  We will arrive there in the Warden’s post of Chachabamba Incas’ ruins.  From this point will begin ascending up over 700 m. ECOPC07   Inca Trail   (Machu Picchu)      4D/3N


Departures: From Cusco, but please check the available dates on the attached file (departures guaranteed with a minimum of 2 passengers) - different days to the indicated on the attachment sometimes could be possible, subject to previous verification with us.

DAY 1:  CUSCO – WAYLLABAMBA . - Pick up in your hotel in Cusco and drive by private car to Km 82 in Urubamba< valley. From this point starts the first day trekking to the Inca City of Patallacta also known as Llactapacta town in the heights). After a short visit of these ruins we continue our walk towards Wayllabamba (prairie–green place). Camping site at 3000 m (L, D)

DAY 2:  WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYU – RUNKURACCAY . - Morning trek up to Warmihuañusca (means "dead women"), our first high pass at 4208 m. from where you can appreciate the snow-capped mountains of the Salcantay Range. Then we continue our way down to Pacaymayo Valley. Over the second pass at Runkuracay ruins (oval building) we get a spectacular watch over at 3860 m. and appreciate the Old Inca Street. Camp. (B, L, D)

DAY 03:  RUNKURUCCAY – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA .- After a healthy breakfast we begin our trek to Sayamarca, near the ruins of Puyupatamarca ("town above the clouds") at 3650 m. where we can observe a fantastic sample of the Inca stone masonry. Later on we trek down to Wiñayhuayna (which means "young for ever") with fountains and beautiful terraces at 2800 m. Lodge accommodations. (B, L, D)

DAY 04:  WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO. - Early morning hike towards the Intipunku (the Gate of the Sun). Here with the sunrise and if weather permits we will have the first amazing view of Machu Picchu sanctuary. Guided tour to visit the world famous ruins of the Lost City of the Incas. Late afternoon train rides back to Cusco (B, BL)

Grading: regular - moderate (good physical fitness is necessary)

Special remark: According to new and recently government regulations (since January 23, 2004) it is necessary to submit the bookings for the Inca Trail to the Government Authority at least 30 days prior to the initiation of the program, so it is necessary to receive your booking at least 35 days prior to the initiation or much better if it is some days before. After it, the confirmation will depend on the availability of free spaces - now, it is not allowed to have within the circuit more than 500 hundred people including guides, porters, helpers, etc.

MAIN COMMENTARIES OF THE QUALITY OF THE SERVICES

Meals. - Obeys a Menu balanced with the quality and sufficient quantity of calories necessary for the activity that is developing, always accompanied with a snack for mid morning. In the same way we provide passengers a tea and enough water for their canteens, which is not offered by the majority of agencies who operate the Inca Trail

Equipment. - Tents are for 4 seasons, named Eureka (North American brand) with 2 doors and capacity for 4 persons but for major comfort we accommodate just 2 passengers in each tent. Although camping chairs, food utensils, complete set of dishes, etc. are provided for each passenger, so they do not have to share for food services, as it is observed with other agencies; or simply don't bring dining and kitchen tents, doing that passengers eat their meals accommodated in the soil or in their sleeping tents.

Guides. - All the ECOANDES Guides Official and professional bilingual with an excellent domain of the language, managing personnel, qualified in first aids and knowledge's of the circuit, as well as of the best knowledge of the archeological, historical and cultural Inca traditions

Transport. - The
vehicles used by ECOANDES  for the transport of the passengers are of the first, with professional drivers besides relying on the Assurances against accidents that it is required by law. The service provided by ECOANDES is from hotel to hotel, from the beginning until the end of the tour, which usually is not provided by other operators of the Inca Trail.

Others - In the morning a tea or coffee is served to the passengers in their tents and then warm water is provided in a lavatory for the personal bath

Other Important Remark:
In case passengers desire to carry sticks or canes to facilitate the trekking at the Inca Trail, these should be with tips of rubber and not with metal tips, which will be confiscated at entrance of the circuit.




ECOPC08   Inca Trail       5D/4N

DAY 1:    CUSCO - WAYLLABAMBA
Starting from the hotel in Cusco, drive by private car to Km. 82. From this point we start the first day trek to the Inca City of Llactapata (town in the heights) continuing afterwards our walk towards Wayllabamba (prairie–green place). Camping site at 3080 m. (L,D).

DAY 2:    WAYLLABAMBA - PACAYMAYU
This day we start with a slow walk up to Warmihuañusca, our first high pass at  4208 m. from where you can appreciate the summit of the snow-capped mountains. Then hike down to Pacasmayo Valley. Camp at 3500 m. (B,L,D).

DAY 03:    PacAymayo - Runkurukay – Puyupatamarca
From Pacaymayo trekking over the second pass at Runkuracay ruins (oval buildings) will have a spectacular view over the 3860 m. and appreciate the Old Inca Street. Trek to Sayamarca (raised over a high place), which is a beautiful labyrinth of streets. Next to it we will find the Puyupatamarca Town (above the clouds) located at 3650 m. and where we can observe a fantastic sample of the Inca stone masonry. Campsite. (B,L,D).

DAY 04:    Puyupatamarca - Intipunku - Machupicchu
Trek along the Puyupatamarca Stone Street heading down to Wiñayhuayna (young forever) with fountains and beautiful terraces. Late afternoon we will finally enjoy the first view of Machu Picchu ruins.  Camp near the Urubamba River on Puente Ruins. (B,L,D).

DAY 05:    Machu Picchu – Huaynapicchu - Cusco
In the morning we will have enough time to enjoy a guided tour to visit and hung around the famous ruins of the Lost City of the Incas. Perhaps climb the summit of Huaynapicchu to observe another nice view of the Sanctuary. Late afternoon, train ride back to Cusco. (B).

DAY 2: URUBAMBA – PISAC - OLLANTAYTAMBO

In our way back to Cusco we also will visit the colourful Chinchero Indian market. Transfer to the Hotel. (L).

ECOPC12   Machu Picchu full day tour       1 day

Early morning transfer from the hotel to the train station in Cusco. Enjoy a train ride along the beautiful Urubamba Valley until we reach the Aguas Calientes village. From there a 15 minutes bus ride will take you up to the entrance gate to the world famous Machu Picchu Inca Ruins. Guided  tour to visit this impressive citadel. In the afternoon drive back to Aguas Calientes and return by train to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.

ECOPC13  Full day Pikillacta-Andahuaylillas   1 day

Transport to the southern part of Cusco towards Huacarpay Lake continuing to Pikillacta, one of the best-preserved pre-Inca town. Here we will appreciate their narrow streets, platforms and foot walks and still well preserved buildings. Then after we continue towards Andahuaylillas, a typical Andean town, where we find the Chacacupe Chapel, one of the most beautiful of this region with it`s  amazing  fresco paints, gold altar and beautiful wood carvings. Late afternoon return to Cusco. (L).
