AAPC04 Mount Alpamayo (5957 m / 19539 ft) 10D/9N
Alpamayo is one of the most beautiful icy peaks in the Peruvian Andes. It is known worldwide and it is in every mountaineer dreams to climb one of its stunning runnels. It is not the difficulty that inspires the climbers but its remote location and magnificent setting among the everlasting snow-caps of the Cordillera Blanca. We will climb the well known Ferrari route on the beautiful South west face of the mountain. For experienced climbers only!
Day 1: Huaraz – Ichicocha camp.
Transport to Cashapampa village and trek towards Ichicocha camp. LB, D.
Day 2: Alpamayo base camp (4350 m / 14270 ft)
Trek towards Alpamayo base camp. (B, LB, D).
Day 3: Moraine camp (5055 m / 16580 ft).
Today we do an equipment transport to our camp on the moraine at the edge of the glacier. In the afternoon we climb back to the base camp. (B, LB, D).
Day 4: Resting day. (B, LB, D).
Day 5: Moraine camp.
Climb up to the moraine camp. Overnight. (B, LB, D).
Day 6: Col camp (5490 m / 18007 ft).
Today we climb to the Col Camp. (B, LB, D).
Day 7: Col camp – Alpamayo summit – Col Camp.
Climb to the summit and descend to the camp. (B, LB, D).
Day 8: Reserve day.
Reserve day in case of bad weather or other unexpected circumstances.
Day 9: Col Camp - Base camp.
Descend to the base camp. (B, LB, D).
Day 10: Base camp – Huaraz.
Trek down to Cashapampa village and transport to Huaraz. (B, LB).
We provide:
Private transport, all entrance fees, professional mountain guide, noted meals, complete camping equipment, communal climbing gear, complete food services while on the mountain, cook, helpers, mule keepers, mules (horses) for cargo transportation, extra horse for emergency, first aid kit, high altitude porters.
Not included:
