ECOPE02 Lima – Nasca- Cusco- Machu Picchu 8D/7N

Day 1: Lima arrival

Arrival in Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Welcome cocktail and hotel accommodation. Short briefing about next day activities.

Day 2: Lima City tour

Breakfast. Our tour begins through the colonial town visiting the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, San Francisco church and its impressive "Catacombs". Later on we head towards the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, followed by a visit to the "Gold Museum", which contains some beautiful gold artifacts of the Inca and Pre-Inca civilizations. Hotel in Lima. (B)

Day 3: Lima – Ica – Nasca Lines - Ica

Breakfast. Starting early in the morning private car will transport us towards Ica City. Then we continue towards Nasca to enjoy an optional over-flight over Nasca Lines, one of the greatest mysteries of South America. Giant geometrical lines resembling land strips, intriguing figures such as a condor, monkey spider, etc. Later on visit the Nasca Artesian and Cultural Centre where the Italian Museum is, containing original pieces of the Nasca Lines. Transport to Ica and hotel. (B).

Day 4: Ica – Ballestas - Lima

In the morning will be driving North West to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. With a boat we will navigate to visit the Ballestas Islands, where we will observe sea lions, cormorants, pelicans, gannets and other abundant sea birds together with a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. After, we will visit the Paracas National Reserve and the Julio C. Tello Museum. Late afternoon arrival back in Lima. Hotel. (B).

Day 5: Lima – Cusco – Incas Sacred Valley

Transfer to the airport in Lima, flight to Cusco. Arrival and reception at the airport. Transport to the Sacred Valley for a visit to Pisac ruins and the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo with optional lunch in a nice local hacienda. Overnight in a Hotel in the Sacred Valley. (B).

Day 6: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Breakfast. Transfer to Ollanta train station and departure towards the village of Aguas Calientes. Drive by public bus to the Machu Picchu main entrance. Late afternoon transport to Aguas Calientes by public bus. From here we take our train train to the town of Ollantaytambo from where by car we travel back to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel in Cusco. B.

Day 7: Cusco City Tour

Morning visit to the Qorikancha Temple (or Temple of the Sun). City tour by the colonial streets and later on visit to the nearby and impressive ruins of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Tambo Machay. Hotel in Cusco. Free afternoon. (B).

Day 8: Cusco - Lima out

Breakfast. Transfer from the hotel to the airport to take our flight to the city of Lima arriving there in time to catch our flight back home. (B).
