ECOPE03 Lima – Cusco - Machu Picchu-Titicaca 8D/7N
Day 1: Lima arrival
Arrival in Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Welcome cocktail and hotel accommodation. Short briefing about next day activities.
Day 2: Lima City tour
Our tour begins through the colonial town visiting the Huaca Puccllana pre-Inca ruins, and then we go to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, San Francisco Church and its impressive "Catacombs". Later on we go towards the modern Lima, visit to the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, followed by a visit to the modern shopping center known as Larco Mar from where we get an splendid view of the Pacific Ocean. Hotel in Lima. (B).
Day 3: Lima – Cusco – Incas Sacred Valley
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport in Lima, flight to Cusco. Arrival and reception at the airport and immediate transport to the Sacred Valley for a visit to Pisac ruins and the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo with optional lunch in a nice local hacienda. Overnight in a Hotel in the Sacred Valley. (B).
Day 4: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Breakfast. Transfer to Ollanta train station and departure towards the village of Aguas Calientes. Drive by public bus to the Machu Picchu main entrance. Late afternoon drive to Aguas Calientes by public bus. From here we take our train to the town of Ollantaytambo from where by car we travel back to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to the Hotel in Cusco. B.
Day 5: Cusco ½ City Tour
Morning visit to the Qorikancha Temple (or Temple of the Sun). City tour by the colonial streets and later on visit to the nearby and impressive ruins of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Tambo Machay. Return to the hotel in Cusco. Free afternoon. (B).
Day 6: Cusco - Puno
Shared (in pool) tour.Breakfast. Using a comfortable shared Tourist bus transport we travel towards Puno. The bus will follow south-east. First visit to the Andahuaylillas Temple, were will observe beautiful 17th century frescoes and a splendid gilded main altar. Continuing will pass Urcos village and then stop at Raqchi for a visit to the Viracocha Inca Temple. Later on stop at Sicuani for lunch (included). Then we pass La Raya high point on the Vilcanota range, which is the highest crossing point of the White and Black Cordillera de Los Andes (4200 ms). Arrival in Puno and hotel accommodation. (B, L).
Day 7: Puno – Uros – Taquile.
Shared (in pool) tour.
From your hotel transfer to the shores of Titicaca Lake and visit by boat to Uros, the unique floating islands located on Titicaca Lake. On this group of 40 big island-like packs of floating totora (reeds), Uros natives continue living like their ancestors, preserving its costumes and their own system of communal life. Later on we continue to visit the Taquile Island, where are still living descendants from the Incas and they spin the finest woven goods in Peru. Return to Puno and transfer to your hotel. (B, L).
Day 8: Puno – Sillustani - Lima out
Breakfast. Morning visit to the Chullpas de Sillustani, tower made from circular stones and which were used as the burial site of the ancient Hatun Colla chiefs in the pre – Inca times. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Lima arriving at the international airport in time to catch the flight back home. B.
