Day
Machalilla National Park is the only protected
area in the country where you can find three ecological zones: the continental,
island and marine. Located south of Manabí Province, this National Park
is one of the best alternatives for seeing and enjoying these important
eco-systems as well as learning about the different cultures dwelling
in this region.
From Puerto Lopez depart to La Isla de la Plata (1 ˝ hours
approx.). Full Day hike through the island looking for wildlife.
Box lunch on the island. Here we will have the chance to find frigate
birds, blue-footed boobies and masked boobies among other amazing species.
Back to the mainland for dinner and overnight. Briefing about next day
activities and other subjects of interest.
Included: private transport, bilingual guide, box lunch, all entrance
fees.
From Puerto Lopez we will visit one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador,
“Los Frailes” beach, located 20 minutes from Puerto Lopez. Hike through tropical dry forest until we reach
the beautiful “Los Frailes” beach.
After enjoying a leisure
day at the beach return to Puerto Lopez.

Day 1: Visitors can fly
from Quito to Portoviejo and then travel by car to Pto. Lopez (or they
can travel overland with local buses or private transportation – not
included). Hotel accommodation at the beach.
Day 2: Hotel accommodation.
Free day.

Day 3: Hotel accommodation.
Free day.

Day 4 : This day you can either
travel back to Portoviejo to take your return flight to Quito or travel
by car to Guayaquil (program extension).
Difficulty level: Comfortable.
