THE COAST OF ECUADOR

ECG Port of Guayaquil

Guayaquil is the most important port in Ecuador and is considered the economic capital of the country. Even though this is a very modern city, the neighborhood of “Las Peñas” with its wooden houses and narrow cobblestone streets gives the visitor a glimpse into colonial times. Among other places of interest in the center are Centenario Plaza, the Art Theatre Center, many impressive churches, including Santo Domingo, San Agustín and San Francisco, and numerous museums, including The Municipal Museum, The Anthropological Museum and The Nahim Isaías Museum. A place worth to visit is the Natural Historic Park of Guayaquil where we find a very interesting and well maintained zoo, a replica of typical coastal farms and rural customs and beautiful rebuilt houses from the 18 century

A few hours drive from the city of Guayaquil take us to the country’s most beautiful  beaches, where you can choose to simply relax in the sunshine or enjoy the water sports on offer.
