ECOPC07 Cusco - Inca Trail - Machu Picchu 8D/7N

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Incas Sacred Valley.

Reception and transport to visit the near-by ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Tambo Machay, etc. Afterwards we continue our drive towards Urubamba, the Incas Sacred Valley. Visit the interesting Indian market of Pisac. Hotel accommodations in Urubamba. (L).

Day 2: Urubamba (Sacred Valley) – Pisac - Ollantaytambo

ecopc07-cusco-inca-trail-machupicchu-8d-2Morning visit to the beautiful Inca ruins of Pisac and then continuing to the small town of Ollaytantambo where we will make a tour to visit the impressive Inca fortress and hang around this interesting Inca town. Overnight in a Hotel in Urubamba. (B, L).

Day 3: Inca Trail: Urubamba - Wuayllabamba

ecopc07-cusco-inca-trail-machupicchu-8d-3From Urubamba drive to the town of Chillca (km 82) where our porters are ready to help us to carry the heavy equipment along the entire trip. Walking in the shadow of mount Verona (5680 m) we trek the first part of the Inca Trail, on the way on visiting the Llactapata ruins, untill we reach the small village of Wuayllabamba. Camp (3450 m). (B, LB, D).

Day 4: Wuayllabamba - Pacaymayu

ecopc07-cusco-inca-trail-machupicchu-8d-4After a hearty breakfast we trek up to Wuarmi-Wuañusqa (Dead Woman 4200 m) pass. We will trek along beautiful ecological zones during the day. The ascent to the first pass earns magnificent views. From this superb vantage point we descend to our camping place at the site known as Pacaymayu (3650m). B, LB, D.

Day 5: Pacaymayu – Phuyupatamarca - Wiñayhuayna

ecopc07-cusco-inca-trail-machu-picchu-8d-5The day starts with the visit to the Inca watchtower of Runcuracay and then climb to the pass of the same name at 3930m. Then we continue to the Inca site of Sayacmarca and the hike up to Phuyupatamarca (city above the clouds) from where finally we descend to our camp at the maginificent archeological site of Wiñayhuayna. (B, LB, D).

Day 6: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu - Cusco

ecopc07-cusco-inca-trail-machupicchu-8d-6Early in the morning trek to the Intipunku, the Gate of the Sun. Here with the sunrise and if weather permits we will have the first amazing view of the Machu Picchu sanctuary. Guided tour to visit the world famous ruins of the Lost City of the Incas. Late afternoon train back to Cusco (B, LB).

Day7: Cusco free day.

You will have a free day in Cusco to enjoy by yourself this magnificent city, once the caoital of the powerful Inca Empire. Hotel. B.

Day 8: Cusco transfer out

After breakfast we transfer you to the airport or program extension. (B).

Included:

Transfers, private transport to the trekking start point at Km 82, Official bilingual English & Spanish speaking Guide, accommodation in tents for 2 passengers, dinning and kitchen tents, toilet tent (with biodegradable chemical substance), collective equipment, porters, first aid kit, oxygen balloon, public bus down to/from the citadel to Aguas Calientes, noted meals (B = Breakfast, LB = Lunch Box, D = Dinner), hotel in Cusco.

Not included:

Entrance fees to Machu Picchu Inca Trail (us$100.-pp –), one way train ticket from Aguas Calientes to Cusco (Vista Dome: $71. - pp; Tourist Class train: $60.-pp), international and domestic flights, airport taxes, extra personal porters (us$ 120.- per porter), tips, personal trekking gear, extras.

Entrance Fees to the Inca Trail circuit and Train tickets rates may vary without any previous advice from the Government or Peru Rail respectively.

Special remark: Bookings, and according to the Peruvian Government new regulations, are possible only if there are available spaces for the Inca Trail (now is not allowed to be within the circuit more than 500 hundred people including passengers, porters, helpers, guides, etc.). So to guarantee your booking we need first to check spaces availability. If we find them we will notify you immediately and then we need an urgent prepayment of $150.- per passenger in order to buy the entrance tickets (boletos). Please take into account that this amount once bought the tickets is not refundable in case of tour cancellation.
If you are interested in doing the Inca Trail, it is necessary to receive your formal request as soon as possible. Together with this we need the following information:

  • Full name (as per is stated in your passport)
  • Passport number
  • Nationality
  • Date of birth
  • Age
  • Gender

The Confirmation of your booking will be given to you the following day after your booking pre-payment has been received.
