Day 1:    SANTA CRUZ

Departure from the hotel we will drive you around the streets of Santa Cruz, which invokes the colonial tradition. Visit to the colonial centre, Museum of the Cathedral, Museum of Art, Indigenous Museum and the Art-Campo gallery with local handicrafts.

ECOBC03    Samaipata pre - Inca Fortress   Full day

 

This is one of the most important architecture samples in the American continent.  Wonderful pre-Colombian monument, which is on the top of the mountain.  The antique natives worked on stones carving figures of pumas, jaguars, niches, and many other enigmatic figures which are not clearly defined until now.  On the way back to Santa Cruz, we will also visit the Archaeological Museum, Las Cascadas de las Cuevas and El Choro. (L).

ECOBC04  Chiquitania Jesuit Missions       2D/1N

 

Day 1:    SANTA CRUZ-SAN JAVIER-CONCEPCION

We will pick up you at 7:00 a.m. from the hotel and drive to the Cotoca, Pailas, Pailon and Los Troncos towns, crossing beautiful natural areas. Arrival to San Javier.  Lunch.  Visit to the Jesuit Church of San Javier.  After this we will continue driving to Concepcion town.  Accommodation in a local hotel.  By the afternoon drive to Represa de Sapoco, where you can have a swimming bath within a splendid natural area.  Dinner.  (L,D).

 

Day 2:    CONCEPCION-SAN JAVIER-SANTA CRUZ

Breakfast.  Visit to the Concepcion Church, architectonic jewel of 17^th Century and its artisan workshops where the native people make jewel pieces to support the church.  Return to Santa Cruz.  Transfer to your hotel, the airport, bus/train station or program extension (B,L).

ECOBC05        Jesuit Missions      4D/3N

Day 1:  SANTA CRUZ – SAN IGNACIO
For a 230 km we will drive towards San Javier and Concepción villages. Box lunch on the way. Visit to the Church and to the Museum of Concepcion and again overland 2 hours trip to SAN IGNACIO DE VELASCO the largest mission and town. Overnight at Hotel La Mision a local 3 star hotel. (L, D) 

Day 2:  SAN IGNACIO
Visit of the Jesuit Mission of Santa Ana, San Rafael and San Miguel. These churches lay in a 120 km trip through the sub tropical region.  Box lunch on the way and visit of the tropical villages.  Evening:  baroque music concert in San Ignacio’s Church. (B, L, D). 

Day 3:  SAN IGNACIO
Full day to visit a local indigenous community with a 3 hours horse riding through the tropical hills and rivers, barbecue lunch, contact with the families and authorities of this human settlement.  Return to San Ignacio at the end of the afternoon. (B,L,D). 

Day 4:   SAN IGNACIO - SANTA CRUZ
Drive back to Santa Cruz. On the way on visit to the San Javier Church and Museum. Arrival and transfer to your hotel or program extension. (B,L).
