AAPT01 Inca Trail
4D/3N
A hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu can be
one of the most wonderful trekking experiences in South America. This
trekking takes you through enchanting scenery arriving at the spectacular
lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.
This program has also a 5-day alternative.
DAY 1: CUSCO –
WAYLLABAMBA (pass 6th as Huayllabamba). - Pick up in your
hotel in Cusco and drive by private car to Km 82 in Urubamba valley. From this point starts the first day trekking
to the Inca City of Patallacta also known as Llactapacta (town in the heights). After
a short visit of these ruins we continue our walk towards Wayllabamba
(prairie–green place). Camping site at
3000 m (L, D)
DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO (pass 10th)
– RUNKURACCAY (pass 12th). - Morning trek up to Warmihuañusca (means “dead women”), our first high
pass at 4200 m. from where you can
appreciate the snow-capped mountains of the Salcantay Range. Then we continue our way down to Pacaymayo
Valley. Over the second pass at
Runkuracay ruins (oval building) we
get a spectacular watch over at 3800 m. and
appreciate the Old Inca Street. Camp.

DAY 03: RUNKURUCCAY – PHUYUPATAMARCA (pass 17th)
– WIÑAYHUAYNA (pass 18th).- After a hearty breakfast we begin
our trek to Sayacmarca, near the ruins of Phuyupatamarca (“town above the clouds”) at 3600 m. -3670m where we can observe a
fantastic sample of the Inca stone masonry.
Later on we trek down to Wiñayhuayna (which means “young for ever”) with
fountains and beautiful terraces at 2700 m.

DAY 04: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU (pass 21th)
– CUSCO. - Early morning hike towards the Intipunku (the Gate of the Sun). Here
with the sunrise and if weather permits we will have the first amazing view of
Machu Picchu sanctuary. Guided tour to
visit the world famous ruins of the Lost City of the Incas. Late afternoon train rides back to Cusco (B,
BL)
Included: All transfers, transport to/from trek start point, all entrance fees, professional
guide, noted meals, complete camping equipment (tents for 2 persons, dining
tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent), complete food services while on the trek,
cook, helpers, porters, first aid kit, train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco.

AAPT02 Lima - Cusco – Inca Trail 11D/10N
Day 1: Arrival in Lima. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to the airport. Morning flight to Cusco. Arrival and transfer
to your hotel. In the afternoon visit Cusco and its famous Inca ruins:
Coricanchi, Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo. Hotel. (B)
Day 3: Full day tour to visit the Inca's Sacred Valley: Urubamba and it’s
famous Ruins: Pisac, Ollaytantambo. Hotel in Urubamba. (B).

4:
Urubamba – Km 82: From Cusco drive to Chillca (km 82) where our porters are
ready to help us to carry the equipment along the entire trip. From Chillca we cross the raging Vilcanota
River. Walking in the shadow of Mount
Verona (5680 m) we continue the hike, stopping for lunch near the Huayllabamba
River and admiring the Inca ruins at Llactapata. First campsite by the river at Tres Piedra (BL, D)
Day
5:
Tres Piedras - Pacasmayo: After a
hearty breakfast ascends to Warmihuañusca (Dead Woman) pax (4200 m). We will pass through three separate
ecological zones during the day: Quechua, Yunga and Puno (from Valley with
trees to arid grassless areas short of the snowline). The ascent of over 1000 meters to the first pass earns
magnificent views. From this superb
vantage point we descend passing waterfalls before camping at Pacasmayo (B, BL,
D)

6:
Pacasmayo - Wiñaywayna: The day starts
with the pass of Runquraca (3900 m) where we see an Inca 'watchtower'. Continue the Inca Ruins at Sayacmarca (a
small maze-like ruin built above the sheer cliff) and, passing through a rock
tunnel we reach Phuyupatamarca (City above the clouds), a beautiful set of
linked stone baths still supplied by a mountain stream. From this area, we should have views of Mt.
Salkantay (6271 m), one of the two most sacred peaks of the Incas. Descent from the third pass (3700) is by a
continuous set of stops (over 2300 of them), into cloud - forest, our last
campsite. From here a short walk take
us to the impressive ruins of Wiñaywayna, curving around a steep valley with
walled terraces hugging the contours.
The extra relaxation time provided here allows us to recoup our strength
to make an early start the next day (B, BL, D)
Day
7:
Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu: Early
morning ascent to Intipungo (the sun gate), where we may observe the sunrise
over Machu Picchu. Descend to the ruins
for a guided tour, starting well before the crowds arrive by the train from
Cusco. There should be 4 to 5 hours
available to spend in this archaeological site, allowing ample opportunities to
explore on your own. Those not yet
tired of heights might like to climb Huayna Picchu for an unparalleled view of
the lost city of the Incas. Late
afternoon transport down to Aguas Calientes.

Day 8:Free morning to enjoy
the green, beautiful lush surroundings. Late
afternoon travel back to Cuzco by train. (B).
Day 9: Free day in Cusco. Hotel. (B).
Day 10: Transfer to
the airport. Flight to Lima. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city
tour through the colonial town visiting The Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church,
San Francisco and the impressive "Catacombs". Later on we will head
towards the modern Lima, San Isidro and Miraflores followed by a visit to the
amazing "Gold Museum", which contains some of the world's most famous
gold pieces from Inca and pre-Inca civilizations. Hotel. (B).
Day 11: Transfer out (or program extension). (B).
Included: All transfers, hotels (double room with private facilities), private
transport to trek start point, all entrance fees. English speaking guide, noted meals, complete camping equipment
(tents for 2 persons, dining tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent), complete food
services while on the trek, cook, helpers, porters, first aid kit, train from
Aguas Calientes to Cusco.

AAPT03 Lima – Llanganuco – Alpamayo
Trek 9D/8N
Day 1:
Arrival to Lima and transfer in. Hotel.
Day 2:
Transfer out to the bus station. Public bus to Huaraz. Arrival and transfer in.

Day 3: Acclimatization day trek. From Huaraz, private transport takes us to
visit the Pastoruri Glacier at 5230 m of altitude. Back to Huaraz. Hotel. (B, L)
Day 4: Departure from Huaraz, by private car to Llanganuco lagoons and then
to Vaqueria. From here we start our first day trek along the Portachuelo pass.
Camp at Huaripampa Canyon.(B, L, D)
Day
5:
Trek from Huaripampa through the Punta Union pass at 4700 m, then into the
Artisan gorge, from where we head to our next campsite, Taullipampa. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Taullipampa-Llama Corral. A trek along the
Santa Cruz gorge. Camp at Llama
Corral. (B, L, D)
Day
7:
From Llama Corral, we trek to Cashapampa from where we will be transported back
to Huaraz. Hotel. (B, L, D)

8:
Transfer from Huaraz to Lima. (B)

9:
Transfer out.
