Uyuni is the highest and the largest "salar" (salt desert) in
the world. It is located to the
south west of Potosi with an average altitude of 4000 meters. The Salt
fields of Uyuni and Coipasa are unique with
unusual fauna for this region such as pink and white flamingos,
geese, ducks, coots, etc. This unique circuits will take us to one of
the most impressive landscapes in South America. (Combinations of 4
WD transport and daily hikes).
AABS01 Salar de Uyuni – Potosi – Sucre
6D/5N
Day 1: Departure from La Paz by local public bus to Oruro and then by train
from Oruro to Uyuni. This is a long day travelling across Bolivia’s high Andean
plateau. Hotel.
Day 2: On this day we drive to the largest Salt Desert in the world. We make a
short trek (10 km) towards " Pescado" Island. Later on we continue
our trip to San Juan village where we visit the pre-Columbian tombs of the
settlement. Accomodation in basic hotel (no private facilities) or camp. (B,BL,D).
Day 3: Travel from San Juan to Uyuni. Hotel accommodation. (B,L).

4:
Uyuni – Potosi. This trip has plenty of
wonderful views of the highlands of this area. In the afternoon short city tour
visiting La Casa de La Moneda and the museum. Hotel. (B).
Day 5: In the morning travel to Sucre, the capital of Bolivia that has been
declared as a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO and still preserved
from modernity. In the afternoon city tour. Hotel. (B).
Day 6: Morning flight to La Paz. Transfer to your hotel. End of
the program. (B).

AABS02 Salar de Uyuni – Laguna Colorada
– Laguna Verde 6D/5N
Day 1: Departure from La Paz to Oruro by bus and then to Uyuni by train. This
is a long day travelling across Bolivia’s high plateau but with rewarding views
of the mountains and the highlands. Hotel.
Day 2: Morning departure from Uyuni to cross the impressive salt flats of
Uyuni. On the way we stop to visit the “Isla Pescado” where we can find a
unique variety of flora and fauna. We will arrive finally at San Juan Village
at an altitude of 3800 m. Camping (or hut accommodation). (B, L, D).
Day 3: Morning departure for a journey across the salty lagoons of Cañapa,
Hedionda, Chiarkhota and Ramaditas. We continue to the Siloli desert till
finally arrive at “Laguna Colorada” (4200 m) where we can observe flamingoes.
Camping (or hut accommodation). (B, L, D).
Day 4: Early morning excursion to the geysers known as the “Sol de la Mañana”
(4800 m) then we continue towards “Laguna Verde” at 4400 m. Great views of Licancahur and Juriquis Volcanoes. Transfer
to Alota. Camp or lodge accommodation. (B, L, D).
Day 5: Cross through startling scenery we will have a long return day to
Uyuni where we will arrive late in the afternoon. Hotel. (B, L).
Day 6: Uyuni. transfer to the
train station or bus station. (or program extension: Potosi and Sucre). (B).

AABS03 South Lipez Desert: Uyuni – Laguna
Colorada - Potosi–Sucre 12/11N
(Combination of 4WD transport, hotels, camps and daily
hikes)
Day 1: Starting from La Paz we drive towards Oruro, the mining city of
Bolivia. Our journey continues towards Lake Poopo and finally arrives at
Challapata village. Basic hotel accommodation. (B).
Day 2: On this day we drive through a salt desert towards the Jirira village
at the foothills of the Thunupa volcano. On the way we visit Quillacas sanctuary
and the small salt lake known as García Mendoza. Finally we arrive at Jirira
village on the border of the Uyuni salt field. Lodging in local family houses
or camp. (B, BL).
Day 3: This day we will enjoy a climbing trek towards the summit of Thunupa
volcano. The view from the summit is wonderful. Return to Jirira. Lodge. (B,
BL).
Day 4: In the morning we make a trek (10 km) towards the "Pescado"
Island. Later on we continue our trip to San Juan village where we visit the
pre-Columbian tombs of San Juan. Lodging. (B, BL).
Day 5: Today we travel parallel to the western volcanoes on the border with
Chile. We stop to observe the spectacular "Damas de Piedra" rock
formations. Not far from here we can observe pink flamingos in a fascinating
combination with the volcanic water lagoons. We arrive at our camp near to
Laguna Colorada. (B, L, D).
Day 6: In the morning we enjoy observing geysers at a place called Sol de
Mañana. Later on we visit Laguna Verde at the foot of Llicancahur volcano (5800
m). We continue afterwards to the village of Quetena. Camp. (B, L, D).
Day 7: We spend this day climbing the 6000 meter Uturuncu volcano, an
easy climb with no glaciers. We continue afterwards to the town of Mallku.
Camp. (B, L, D).
Day 8: A 5-hour trip will take us back to Uyuni. On the way we pass through
the village of Alota. Hotel. (B, L).
Day 9: Travel from Uyuni to Potosí. Short city tour. (B).
Day 10: Morning to enjoy Potosi. Visit to a Tin and Silver mine of the Cerro
Rico. Visit La Casa de la Moneda. In the afternoon
travel to Sucre, the Capital of Bolivia. (B).
Day 11: City tour of Sucre, declared a “World Heritage Site” by The UNESCO and
is still preserved from modernity. Hotel. (B).
Day 12: Morning flight to La Paz. Transfer to your hotel. (B).
